I am an adult, and if I got caught carrying weed at work, I'd be fired. It's not right, but that's the way things are. This petition in the school isn't going to change anything as far as their policies are concerned. The last thing schools want is a reputation for scandals and drug useage due to illegal activity by students. Detention and/or suspensions would be appropriate for porno, breaking dress codes, acting out, etc. Illegal substances are a whole different ball game.

This girl in my school started a poll that you were to sign to prevent expulsion of students if they were caught in the possession of drugs, with an in school suspension or something of those sorts. I think this is a good idea, expulsion should only be required for harm caused to other people or their property. Do you guys think this is a good idea?
