Ok, I have a gun, and a dog.

A man is sitting there holding something I can't see, saying he will shoot my dog if it attacks him.

Right at that point I'd be thinking of killing the man, period, knowing he has something, and he's saying it's a gun. He's stupid enough to do those 2 things, he deserves the chance of death at the very least for being that stupid.

Why is everyone against the cops in this situation.
They did what they should have done. The guy said he had a gun and that he was going to use it. At this point the cops already had the right to shoot him. If not they're endangering their own lives because of some dumbass.

Fuck that the cops were definitely wrong, first of all, he didn't say he was going to use the gun on the cops just the dogs. And he said he wanted to end it peacefully as did the cops, so the cops should have put the dogs in the car, while the other ones watched the dude, and then come and taken him peacefully. Second of all, he threw the gun away, they were asking him to put the gun down, and when they released the dogs you can clearly see that he threw it away not in a threatening manner at all... and it wasn't even a gun!

I saw when he threw the shoe, and then after that he said that he had a gun again, and it could just be bad sound quality, but I heard him say something along the lines of, "If he let the dog go, Imma shoot him"
That sounds to me like he's threatening to shoot the cop.

Anyone who see's this video and proclaims the cops to be corrupt obviously has never been in a gun fight. When you're faced with death and the only option is to shoot the person who appears to have a gun and seems like he is about to shoot you any sudden move would make anybody have an itchy trigger finger so please don't talk nonsense about the cops unless you were faced with a similar situation.

Yeah actually as a matter of fact I was and while in Iraq. In that situation I inadvertently killed a child thinking he had a gun. All it took was a fire fight and one kid making the wrong hand gestures to make me shoot. I guess since it only seemed like he had a gun I was a corrupt soldier who intended to shoot him just as the cops did with that black guy. Remember people life is different from video games. The bad guys arn't necessarily wearing a particular uniform and when you lose the game that means you're death so when the pressure is on anyone can get shot.....anyone.

That is a VERY different situation. If you were in a firefight you don't have a lot of time to think especially with bullets and rpg's flying over head. While the cops might not have had a lot of time to think as well, I think that if a person that was stoned(me) and not paying attention(me) to this video could see that he clearly threw the "gun" on ground and not pointing it at the police. Then I think about 20 cops without bullets flying all around them would and should be able to make that distinction as well. If not they aren't fit for duty just like about 3/4 of our police force. Also they are dumb as fuck for letting their dog go and then shooting? They should have done one or the other.... What did they think would happen?
