    Bug Problems

Can anyone recommend a few options for getting rid of bugs? It looks like a bug has eaten a layer of some of the leaves, and the spots are now browning out a few days later. All i see are a few gnat like bugs rawling now and then. I spray weekly with a Garden Safe brand houseplant & garden insect spray but it seems like i need to spray more often than that. Whats the deal with soap & water? This is the best luck i've had with houseplants and i don't want it to get worse.

Just as it sounds? Make a tea w some cigs? Be careful of what? Also, The spray i have says made by plants for plants. I read somewhere that the oranic pyrethins is made from chrysanthemums. I made a potporri from clippings from my mums and when i poured the stuff out i thought, i wonder if i put this stuff in my bottle would it have the pyrethin chemical in it and do roughly the same job? Just an idea. Anyhow thanks for the reply, i was wondering if someone was going to answer.

Take 3 cigs at the tobbaco to 200ml of water leave over night, then boil it for no more than 2mins strain the liquid into a spray bottle add a tiny amount of lemon liquid soap like one wee drop. put it in the fridge till its cold.Spray cpl times a week, will kill all bugs.Remember dont spray them when the budded though.Used this method for years works well for me.All the best mate happy bug free growing.

Again, thanks. I'll defenitely give it a shot. What did you think about the mum mixture? I have an abundance of them and i dont smoke tobacco so i'll have to get a few cigs from someone that does. Maybe when i'll make a bottle of each and test them on different plants. Definitely worth experimenting with. Better than $5+ for store bought sprays.

be careful to boil the water after you let the tobacco seep into it because if you dont you can infect your plants with tobacco mosaic virus. read my thread that i just posted it may help.
