I am very depressed this morning....and no weed to make me feel better...sadly, I think your view is correct...we've gotten lazy, only care about a sound bite, and following the herd is becoming common place. What scares and upsets me most is how bush will be able to impact the Supreme Court....his fingerprints will be all of the court for the next 30 years, and it will be a very conservative court....

Too bad about Alaska, but really, I don't think I'd want to live there anyway...but, several places did pass decrim bills...Oakland, for one...so, although not totally legalized, at least it's in the right direction (although Ass-croft will no doubt try to get the Fed Govt involved...he is a real scary guy..

I fear for the future of my country....

I am very upset today. I honestly thought that I'd wake up and hear that Kerry had won. Then, for a while, I was crossing my fingers in hopes that he'd win in Ohio...but when I heard that he accepted defeat my heart sank to the floor. I am nervous (to say the least) about the future and I hope that Bush was telling the truth when he said that he wants to reach out to Kerry supportors and listen to our concerns so he can be a better president. But why should we believe him? Personally, when someone lies to me it's hard for me to trust them again. Especially when they can't admit they've made a mistake in the first place.

I watched John Kerry graciously ask his supportors to try to bridge the gap and get behind the president to move us all forward together. If I can past my distaste for Bush I will try, but I will not support him if I think he's making bad decisions. And that ruling the country according to the bible nonsense really rubs me the wrong way. I was getting disgusted just listening to Bush quote the bible in his speech today.

    Amen Maryjanemama ! lol
I agree with you. But, Bush didn't win the popular vote last time, and all his talk of working with both parties and being a uniter was just that..talk. He went off and did his own thing (after getting instructions from God). Now that he got a majority and is a lame duck, I think he's going to be even more to the right than he has been. He is just going to roll over anyone who disagrees with him. His accecptance speach was total bull today....watch, he is going to do serious damage, the effects of which we will be living with for many, many years......

I stayed up until 5 am watching Dan Rather talk about the election, waiting to see if Kerry would prevail. Alas, Ohio went to Bush. But in it's own way, this could be fortuitous. Hear me out:

When Bush first stole the election, it was a '0' year (2000). All 4 presidents to be assassinated were elected on '0' years (Lincoln, elected 1860; Garfield, 1880; McKinley, 1900; Kennedy, 1960, Bush, 2000??). Of course then we would be stuck with Cheney....although that slimey bastard controls Bush now....

    Peas out

*Disclaimer: To any nosey fuck who might misconstrue my comments as some sort of threat against the life of the president, this is merely speculation and wishful thinking - along with a brief history lesson.

    Howdy Maryjanemomma,

I'm sorry that you're all upset, but it's really best to have the grown-ups running things at this time. The fact is,is that America is a Judeo-Christian country, which was proven on Nov. 2nd. Y'all liberals found out that fact, the hard way..seems that folks with children, would rather that they grow up in a country based on family values-instead of debauchery and rampant sin,as the Left desires.

It will be best for America's family values,to have a conservative weighted Supreme Court. Hitlery, the Hildabeast, has already started making plans for '08'..but I'm pretty sure, that she's too scarey, even for many liberals,to win.

This is not the time to retreat from the enemy-nor dabble in liberal social engineering. If it be God's Will-terrorists and the States that support them, will all be defeated,by '08'.

    Have a good one...Torog

I have 3 children...and I think the biggest "sin" being commited is Bush hiding behind the bible to become a dictator.

    Can anyone be so ignorant?

Torog, im sorry.. apart from your political ideologies, you seem alright.. But, I cant agree with that at all

Now, don't call me a "no good liberal" or whatever, because im not

The fact is, politics and religion shouldnt mix.. because it was always turn out bad. The fact that Bush is starting to use religious terminology in his speeches (even quoting the bible!!) is offensive to me, and im sure to millions of Americans

using religion in politics not only alienates people of other faiths, but it can also be used as an excuse to carry out certain agendas...

I personally (though its not up to me) dont think Bush should be president.. I dont think Republicans shouldnt be in charge, i just dont think the bush administration should.. they have a hidden agenda, and theyll stop at nothing to carry it out..

I mean, they plan on banning gay marriages, and dont care about the millions of people it will offend and alienate, because there are more Christians who think gay people shouldnt get married.. so, by banning gay marriages they'll win more support, wether its right or not

Torog, with Bush in power you will lose more and more of your rights and freedoms, offend more people, make more enemies, lose allies and start more wars.. simple.. i feel for your country right now..

GAYS SHOULD NEVER GET MARRIED, its DISGUSTING. I will agree with a large portion on this thread, Bush should not use the bible, I voted at a Church - hense. I voted for Bush because he stands by his word, both candidates are both Hypocrits - or whatever I'M stoned). I chose the lesser of two evils, Hopefully we can get a conservative/liberal in there in 2008 1) to decriminalize weed (lets face it, it will never become legal) 2)Completely and forever ban gay Mariages 3) and keep good family values and morals running this country so we all DON'T turn out like liberal ass Californians.
