Noob with a rubbermaid in the closet has yellow leaves
Sorry for the lame question but i have spent hours and am just more confused than ever. I have a friend with a 14 gal rubbermaid (1) with 5 plants. Setup one week ago and left unattended untill now......(unexpected clones one day before trip!!!) Using GH 3-2-1 mixed up 10 gal worth in 12 gal of water (not ro) used tap 15 years ago w/ no probs!...but anyway the light is 430w agrolux hps heres problems:
Leaves(lower) turning Completely yellow (not just tips) and am confused as to whether this is a N deficiency or a burn (2 totally different remedies!)
Ph is 6.2 (or lower since this is the lowest my reader goes!) problem?
have bubble wall and 2 airstones and roots growing out of pots already but new to this (i thought i was making it up as i went, then found this site.....duhhhh) i'll try to post some pics
Thanks (cant get pics to upload but leaves are totally yellow on bottom of some)SeaTownMangler Reviewed by SeaTownMangler on . Find some better nutes, ur lacking alot search around for some good nutes. i personally use 1 part organic nutes. meaing i get all my nutes from one bottle. alot of other ppl prefer useing 2 or 3 part nutes. there are alot of threads on what nute ppl use and what works for them will work for u. your ph should be between 5.5 and 6

there is nothing wrong with the nutes you are using infact it is probably one of the most commonly used brands for growing cannabis.
would suggest you get a ph meter and ppm meter to be able to better check your nutrient strength and ph.
is just one plant showing this problem?
would probably try increasing the strength of nutrients slowly to see how the plant reacts as it could be a nitrogen deficiency.

Thanks for the replys;
actually 2 of the 5 plants are yellowing (badly) and 2 seem just fine, while 1 was just about dead (but the leaves perked up this morn.!!) I think this might have something to do with the strains? (G-13, Purple#1, and Papaya) I think the G-13 is doing ok but cant tell any of them apart really, (although they are definately different plants)
It has been 7 days as of today so going to flush the system and clean the tub out (lots of algae already) The roots seem fine as they are already sticking out of the pots on 4 of the 5 plants.....thus my dilema.
Using a water conditioner today and upping the nute strength to the recomended full Veg ratio.....if it dont kill 'em it'll just make 'em stronger, right?! lol
Would like to force flower ASAP but am unsure if cloning from stressed plants is a good idea(i'm sure its not) but since this is a first time thing maybe just be patient and and go untill can tell which plant is which.......(Purple #1 is sooo small and compact, but G-13 is sooooo good....but maybe too big for this system.....?)
Sorry for the long post and Thanks for any replies

1st off. using 3-2-1 formula is 3 times the recommended amount of nitrogen.
so think about your nitrogen Q? you might be frying thoses young plants with too much nutes!
Flush immediately and replace with the following:
don't be fancy. be safe...use 1-1-1 for veg at 5ml (5-5-5)per gallon each. then in flower use 8ml per gallon each, or there are many formulas , but most are theory. the manufacturer direction's work as well as any recipe.
I use per gallon in ml...5-5-5 for veg, and I use 4-8-12 in flower. I vary these and use additives, but you should stay simple because 3-part is all you need along with a little calmag, b-vitamins. goodluck
ph should be around 5.8...6.2 is too high,

Sorry, I kinda answered in the middle of your quote

Thanks Late
Actually things are looking "up" but going to sleep on it and see how they look in the morn. (as they are very happy right now....i think)
these babies all came from an organic dirt farmer, maybe the switch to hydro is a big time shock? If so dirt is an option.....(i guess) any thoughts on this anyone......anyone.....anyone
Bueller out
