Are my dreams realistic

[The Big Easy]

Ive grown one plant before just by planting a seed in the dirt and sitting the pot by a big bay window. I had to leave where I was at so I planted it outside and a deer ate it. (Or some lucky creature). But now Im in a new location with a new big window in a safe location and Ive got the growing itch. I read all these threads about the complexity of growing, and I cant haev a big set up in my room or in my house. so my question is. If I try to grow the same way(with more care than I could offer before) can a I produce a quality single plant on my bedroom window ledge? And are there any tips you guys can give me to help with my "simple" growing.

Well, you can produce a plant, BUT the problem is the plant needs 18 hours of light a day for the vegative growth, and this light needs to be direct sunlight. You wont be able to get direct sunlight through a window for 18 hours a day, any time of the year, but especially this time of year.

It's too late to really grow anything this time of year with sunlight as its already moving into the 12/12 period, but you could give it a go. Only problem is it'll be pretty sretched and this will compromise your yeild.

Just get a cuple of compact fluos [CFLs]

They are cheap, and they'll give you a plant worth growing. If you want you can flower with the natural light, but if i was you i'd just veg it with CFLs and flower with CFL's. you'll probably get a much better result with them than sunlight at this time of year.

Also one plant is a bit hit and miss... Cos if its a male you've wasted all that time growing it, unless you get fem'd seeds, and even than you have a chance of a male or a hermie.

yeh, what he said /\ get some cfls, if not, plant them outside at the end of your garden, (unless its winter where u r) in which case i would wait a while and make a big guerilla grow in the spring, - good luck
