I'm going to guess that whatever mutation you have is likely going to be recessive and the offspring will be carriers, but not express the trait. You might see it again if you do an F2 generation of that cross.

Not necessarily. The mutation in the leaves and the possible yield are probably not linked.


That fused/split leaf thing is one of the mutations caused by polyploidy, where the chromosomes don't split right during meiosis. But that is not the ONLY thing that causes it, so hey, who knows, mutants are cool.
