Whats your career
I'm now working as a Computer Dismantling Technician.
They give it a fancy name, but all you do is take the components out of computers for recycle use. Printers, same thing, but the moniters, if they are completly shot, we get to smash the glass out with a nice sledge. It's pretty much bashing the shit out of old computers for not a bad wage.
Good way to get frustrations out and my long hatred relationship with old computers that refuse to work.

Whats your career
i'm looking to apprentice as an electrician 1 or 2 years from now, and i've heard working in the army for a bit can be rewarding with the way the [canadian, not sure about american] government treats it's workers.. how was the experience for you and do you have any advice or anything for someone in my position?

Whats your career
Well the army gave me great work ethic, no matter what job I have I can say at least im not in the army anymore. I got 40,000 for college and allot of other benefits. On the flip side there is a reason I didn't reenlist and I count myself lucky to be alive after 1 year in Iraq which really sucks.
I would much rather be in the Canadian army than USA, I don't know too much about the Canadian army though. Plan ahead and know your goals...don't waste time on shit you don't really need to further yourself. Don't start a degree or career until you know what you want to do.

Whats your career
the thing is in Ontario there is a major shortage of trades people so Electricians are basically payed most of their college tuition fees and automatically started at between $15,000 to $30,000 annually to basically learn while your peers are having to pay that much per year to GET to learn their professions. i've heard joining the army is rewarding for people in your field because if you stay for 10 to 15 years with them then you can have the opportunity to have a full pension and retire at age 40...which definately sounds sweet to me.
to get my facts straight i have this conference thing at my school the night of November 30th, the only problem is I think I am in Montreal at that time. hopefully not
