I rode past Copley Square last night (which, FYI, is pronounced "COP-ley," not "COPE-ley," at least in my aging memory) to try to see James Taylor, Bon Jovi, Carole King, Don Henley, and all the other rich-as-phuk baby boomers.

As I came down St. James Street, I saw the barricades. I stopped to look, thinking I could detour down Columbus Ave and swing around the Prudential Center to get to Boylston Street. But they had big gates with metal detectors, and all these streets were completely closed off. Even people with badges were waiting a long time to get in.

So I rode home, instead. Later, it began to rain.

Meanwhile, in at the Ronald Reagan Center in DC, every six-toothed redneck country singer was singin' about his girlfren', his pickup, his houndawg, and the return of the double-sized clip for his ol' assault rifle ....
