Yeah, that was a 'poison pill' the Republicans stuck in a bit of legislation to kill a minimum wage increase. I'm not familiar with the exact wording n' such of the legislation, but supposedly it was a tax cut on inheritence for the MegaRich. It wouldn't effect you and me, or even the wealthy, but only the superwealthy like the Waltons, Hiltons, Gates, etc.

But anyway, that's how Legislators kill off something they don't want to see go through. Republicans don't want a minimum wage increase, but they can't stop it from being presented. They do, however, have the right to tweek and attach things, so they came up with this "Megarich' taxcut that they knew the Democrats would never go along with.

I agree with eliminating estate taxes considering that money has already had taxes paid on it and people should be able to pass their estates down to their heirs, not to the Federal Government. It's bullshit though that it should only go to the super-affluent. Shows you who the Republicans are really looking out for, doesn't it?

The case for abolishing the federal estate tax is a sham, deflated by Congress' own research and investigative reporting.
