difference between a republic and a democracy
That might be the original definition of democracy, but it no longer is. A democracy is a country where you vote for your government, just like you do in America.
It is possible to be a republic and a democracy. A republic means you are ruled by ordinary people. A democracy means you are ruled by those you vote for. Technically Iraq under Hussein was a republic as it was not ruled by royalty, but it was not a democracy.AAAH HA HA HA HA HA!
