Water Softner; any drawbacks when growing?
A water softener only removes metals from the water.metals in water are what make for "hard water".As far as i know these metals are neither beneficial or bad for plants.my thinking on it is if it doesn't help it ,why have it in there? a water softener however will NOT remove chlorine from your water so i would highly reccomend letting it sit out for a bit before giving it to your plants.
