Two Days After He Told Democrats To Stay Home On Election Day, Sean Hannity Accused..

Two Days After He Told Democrats To Stay Home On Election Day, Sean Hannity Accused Media Of Conspiring To Suppress Republican Votes
News Hounds | October 21 2006
On his October 18 radio show, Sean Hannity, unhinged over the idea of Republicans losing on November 7, exhorted Democrats to stay home and not vote. Two nights later, on Hannity & Colmes, Hannity accused the rest of the media of conspiring to discourage Repubicans from voting. Can you say projection? With video.
Media Matters has the audio of Hannity on his radio show:

I want you to stay home on Election Day because you must accept the fact that your party has abandoned you. You've gotta accept the fact that your vote doesn't matter anyway. So all you Democrats, stay home. So, you know, why don't you stay home on Election Day? This is how the press is going to report this: "Hannity says Democrats should stay home on Election Day."
I sure hope they'll report it, along with what he said during a discussion about the upcoming election with Newt Gingrich on last nightâ??s Hannity & Colmes. â??The media seems somewhat complicit. I argue that thereâ??s even a sort of an institutionalized bias to sort of suppress voting and take away initiative from people. Thatâ??s how I feel, based on the news coverage."
Well, it's not surprising he would feel that way, since he was doing exactly that, himself. And whenever Hannity complains about somebody else doing something, it's a sure bet he'll do the same thing - and blame Democrats at the same time. Sure enough, Hannity continued, "Let me give you two recent examples. We know in the State of Virginia the coverage of Senator George Allen. But his opponent in this race just this week used the term â??towel headâ?? and used the term â??red neck.â?? And I can only imagine if a Republican did that, it would be considered outrageous. Steny Hoyer campaigning for Ben Cardin, the Democrat in Maryland, he actually said of the African-American candidate for the senate for the Republicans, â??he was slavishly beholden to the Republicansâ?? after two years ago having used the term he was a token.â?ť
In fact, Hoyer quickly apologized for his poor choice of words (which Hannity conveniently forgot). Webbâ??s remark was a comment about pejorative racial stereotypes whereas George Allen used those terms, himself, in their normal context. You can read Webbâ??s comments in context, not that that would matter to the unhinged Hannity.

Desperate people say stupid things. Are you worried dems won't vote because hannity told them not to? Just the opposite seems likely.
