Favorites for comfort and daily wear:
- Dockers brand flat-front ladies' khaki pants in navy blue or black
- Lee relaxed fit jeans (always the long versions of pants)
- Ralph Lauren blouses or sweaters, preferably when they're on sale
- Casual Donna Karan blouses and pants, again, on sale
- New Balance white sneakers or dark-colored Dankso professional clogs on feet or Munro American shoes
- Unfancy Victoria's Secret or Chantelle bras and panties, preferably in pink or white

Favorites for dressy/more expensive:
- Dana Buchman pants, blouses, suits, sweaters
- Oscar De La Renta-styled knockoff dresses (simple and understated)
- Michael Kors-styled knockoffs or ready-to-wear originals (ditto)
- Calvin Klein (again, he's low-key)
- Bally, Cole/Haan, or Kenneth Cole shoes (nothing scary, spiky or pointy; shoes need to be low-key)

I live in an area of Texas where lots of designer-clothes wearing, big dyed and boofy hair-sporting, too-much-jewelry and makeup-wearing ladies tend to be the rule rather than the exception. I prefer to be the exception and to have my actual personality define my style rather than donning a lot of flashy clothes or jewelry. Simple. Understated. Elegant. Low key. No one can go wrong when you aim in those directions for clothing.
