how many lumens are they

from what ive heard you need about 2500 lumens per sq ft or growing space, although the more the better I think. Im going to grow with these CFL's like 3 of these http://www.1000bulbs.com/product.php?product=4013 and
3 of these http://www.1000bulbs.com/product.php?product=4010 maybe more... but thats a little different then the tubes. You should still need the same amount of lumens though.

umm....i think they are around 2600 together, and there daylight 6000K(whatever that is). would i need anymore?? when is a good time to flower, and would i have to switch the the warmer bulbs??

I had a cabinet 2'x4'x8' for years, kept adding fluoro 48" tubes (I don't use the CFLs, their 'wattage equivalency' claims are bogus, in my opinion) ... didn't really get acceptable growth until I had six 40-watt tubes ... when I finally got to twelve 40-watters (35,000 lumens) the growth really took off, but the weight and size were a hassle ... I wound up going to HPS, whcih made a BIG improvement ... use the 'GE Cool Whites' for vegging, and the GE 'Kitchen and Bath' tubes for flowering (they don't have to be GE brand, I just mentioned those because thats what I always bought at WalMart) ... you can grow top-quality plants under fluoros, but the yield and speed of growth is just so much more with the big lamps ... I still miss some things about my fluoros (being able to leave home for a couple days, and knowing my lamps won't burn my plants and home up, for instance) ... hope this helps ... :smokin:

And you need to switch to the 2700k warm lights for flowering, one common question that im trying to find out is do you take the 6500k daylight lights out after you go into the flowering cycle?

yes, switch them out for the 'red' spectrum lamps ... some leave the 'blue' also, for a 'full-spectrum' approach, but all that really does, is keep the plant growing taller, etc, ... the buds like the red spectrum for blooming ... :smokin:

Thanks a ton Green Cross thats the last thing ive been trying to figure out, so if you want to keep the plant small take out the 6500k CFL's when you go into the flowering cycle around the 3rd to 4th week.
