Hawaiian Growing

I live in Hawaii, and I'm not exactly rich or have to much time to mess with growing, but because weed is expensive here, I thought I'd give it a try. So for me I was just thinking about getting a pot and putting it outdoors, and growing it. Well something I read was saying, first let the seeds soak in distilled water over night, then to let them germinate indoors for like 3 weeks with 24 hour light then taking them outdoors after 3 weeks.

Now wait here I'm sure cannabis has been around thousands of years, and people back then were growing just fine, but technology comes along and we get all fancy. Truth is I'd like to just go to the store get a pot, and some soil, and put the seeds in and take the pot outside and just let it grow natural, with normal day, and night hours, light etc, and water the pot every so often when it's getting dry. Simple and organic is the way I like it, and hope I can do it, and not have to get all 21st century crazy here, HEY this is why I live out here guys, the simple life. :-)

I mean do I have to get crazy here with all sorts of exotic growing techniques, after all if they did it thousands of years ago, I'm sure people grew it then pretty simple, and one last thing I have 10 seeds how many should I put in a small pot, and how far apart do you place them? you can put them outside in a big pot with some good quality soil and give them some nice fertalizer. just take care of it like a plant. it will begin to flower when the daylight shortens during fall or if it is covered for 12 hours of darkness. also it is helpful to top the plant tip early in life to promote branching.

check out this thread!! toping the plant is to cut the growing tip of the plant when it's got 3-6 sets of leaves. a cannabis plant grows straight up, but if you cut the growing tip branches will form from the joints of the leaves and the stem. this will increse the yeild and make the plant less visable from above.

You're right,you can just throw the seeds into the ground or pots,it's just that by doing so,you'll risk exposing your seedlings to critters,one of my friend's,starts all his seeds in a wheelbarrow full of dirt..he then gits rid of any runts or weaklings,before transplanting them into the ground or big pots. They always do well. It's best to plant your seeds into seperate pots or even into disposable,16 or 20 oz,picnic cups,burning drain holes in the bottom,let them grow in those cups for a couple weks or so,outside even-before transplanting them into 5 gallon pots.

You gotta remember,most folks are trying to grow as quickly as possible,in order to git the fruits of their labors quicker. But if you're gonna grow outside,then you'll need more patience..however,the rewards are a larger yield,dense,hard buds and better potency. I reckon,that Hawaii has a long grow season,does it ever git down below 60 degree's there ? If there's alot of rain,then you'll need to make sure that you've got good drainage for your plants,whether they are in pots or in the ground. You may even have to gently shake the plants,when they're budding,in order to git the rain drops off the buds-so they don't mold.
