    mylar on floor

Anyone tried putting mylar on their floor in addition to the walls? Does it help with the growing or simply shorten the life of one's eyeballs?

    mylar on floor

my floor has mylar on it ... my friend is an electronics engineer, he says its not good ... he says light waves will actually bounce off, and deflect each other ... I haven't bothered to take it up, since the floor is well below the canopy, anyway ... I wouldn't worry about it ... :smokin:

    .

I tape thick, white, pvc, garbage can liners all around the floor and 6 inches up the walls, since I'm going to be mucking about with water and don't want to worry about ruining the floor. I have a feeling it reflects quite well, though I may be wrong.
Everything looks kinda surgically white, it looks cool and professional so I'm keeping it :rasta:

If you can just paint you floor flat white. white is 99% reflective and it isnt going to rip or get messy. if you cant paint it either go with faithlessxxx's opinion or use white linnolium(like the stuff in your bathrooms - you can get it in rolls) or other heavy duty sheating.

99% aye? I dont think so buddy. Mylar, the most reflective stuff you can get is only 98%.

Flat white is alot lower, but still good. It's definatly better than nothing, but not 99% reflective.

Flat white paint is actually not far from mylar, like 93% or something. I prefer paint to mylar generally, but I use mylar in some areas anyway because it's fuckin' hard to get white paint to adhere very well to smooth laminated surfaces, at least without doing a lot of extra work. Mylar and a stapler, on the other hand, bing-bang-boom, goes right up on any surface you can stick a staple in. Plus, it looks all high-tech. Heh.
