does temperature affect maturity of buds

plants 8 weeks into flower- trichs have been cloudy for 2 weeks- have had an extreme temperature drop today and cold spell expected to last another week- will the cold and cloudy weather slow down the trichs from becoming amber???

Hey, that's a good question, and I've been wondering on the other end of it... whether an INCREASE in temps would speed things up a bit. I kind of assumed all along that ripening was temp-dependent on some level, since life processes depend on chemical reactions and reaction rate is T dependent...

Anyway Clovisman, unless you're really after the extreme couchlock, you're ready to harvest. Cloudy trichs=done.

Any extreme temp drops could kill your plants, and i doubt it would speed up the maturity of the buds. one thing good about temp drops if its below 70 degrees the buds can get purple on them which looks pretty sweet. I would give your plants another week and then harvest them its better to harvest a tad bit early then to lose your crop to frost/crappy weather.

stinkyattic- there are many opinions on what % of trichs for harvest- some suggest as much as 50-50- and most common 10 to 20% amber- i will take your advice and as soon as they dry from rain in the barn the girls will go-thanks stinky for ALL your input during this grow
