Here's a good start:

Google "ooglebird's wick cloner". Really. Very very simple and almost free to make! You can play around with the design a bit; he recommends I think 2L soda bottles, I used plastic shoeboxes from all-for-a-dollar. Make sure you use a fungicide- I just ordered 'no-damp', will be trying that out.

Another is to make a bubble (pseudo-aero) cloner using fishtank airstones epoxied to the bottom of a rubbermaid tub, put in some water, cut holes in the top, and secure the shoots there so the stems hang over, not in, the water and as the bubbles come to the surface and pop, the stems are moistened.

I finally broke down and bought an ez-clone for almost nothing, and I really like it so far.

Anything you decide on, 'wilt-pruf', fungicide, Clonex gel (that stuff is the shnizzle) and dim flourescent light are your friends.
