You need to get more light on it, closer to it.

If you havnt already, get a fan blowing on them.

And at 3 weeks starts nutes, but not too strong or you'l burn the plant.

But at the mo, for a first time i guess its not that bad.

Not bad for a first time.

It's been said, but get more light on that plant, also, I see your loght is pointed downwards. Turn that light sideways so the light comes from the sides of the bulb, rather than from the tip of the bulb. There is a 25% more light output from the sides, and, having a bulb sideways, the heat doesn't travel upwards as it would like you have it. Heat rises, so if that bulb is downwards, the built in ballast and light itself gets damn fucking hot. On its side though, the heat doesn't travel up the bulb heating it.

Just a suggestion so keep it in mind.

Also, is that plant in a light free area when the light is off. When that light is off, it must be 100% dark in your grow room area, or you will end up with a male plant, or hermie if it's a clone. Keep that in mind as well as a lot of new growers come back in a month or so, wondering why they got a male plant.

It's simple, when the light is off, 100% dark and no light leaks at all.

    Good luck.

yea man thanks for the 100% dark tip! i wouldnt have a clue if that happened. Turning the lightbulb sideways sounds good too... i also got a fan but its not in the picture... that light bulb is a 100 watt compact spiral 'day-light' bulb, i only turned it off so i could take the pic.. anyway thanks again for the advice! growing is fun

Could you post a reference to your advice about if you let light leak you will get a male or hermie plant? I've read that only during flowering it is important to ensure that during the dark time no more than a couple of minutes of light is exposed, as it could mess with the hormones or something? I donno, but this is something that I wasn't aware of and would like to read a bit about it. :stoned:

you can leave the light on for 24 hours during veg. but during the flowering stage you want 100% darkness. and to fix what he said, you cant get a male plant because it wasnt 100% dark, you will end up with small buds or a hermie or it wont go into flowering if the light leak is alot. plain and simple, but so far your doing a great job. and during flowering for bigger buds try to get a 100% darkness no light leak at all equals bigggg buds big big big buds. hahahahahhaah massive bud, real big, big big

oh yeah and just so you can get big big buds

dont use foil paper it absorbs light, try getting a cabinet and paint the inside flat white, and mirrors dont work they absorb light also

for more info on big buds. use a P2P program like limewire and download the Cannabis growers bible its got everything you need to know. it should be in PDF format (documents)
