Think I may have posted this in a different thread (but I can't find it anymore), that I've found the firecrackers taste 10,000% better if I don't use saltine crackers.

For some reason the saltines taste like shit when you add peanut butter & bake 'em. I've switched to Keebler "club" crackers and the result actually takes GOOD, just like peanut butter crackers.

I found using a mortar and pestel to grind the magic ingredient to a fine dust helps increase the kick (maybe even make it taste better). Only takes 30 seconds to do the grinding, and I got a mortar/pestel set at Walmart for under 2 bucks (in the household section).

Also, I didn't know about the steps here about microwaving first or being sure to wrap the firecrackers in foil, yet have had no problems just putting the crackers on a small baking sheet "naked" in the oven. The kick is great as is!
