Can you drill a hole in glass ?

I did this today actually. I had a glass cream soda bottle and I drilled two holes, one for the stem and one for a carb. I haven't finished it yet though.

I used a no-name dremel copy kit that had diamond bits, and I didn't even put water on it when I was doing it. It turned out really nice. I had a couple of slips but nothing major.

Is it bad to make a bong out of glass if it is lead based?

Yeah but the glass won't get heated, so it won't release toxic fumes, right? I thought the only thing that made a difference was the bowl material as far as toxic fumes go.

also, if you dont have that bowl to go into the hole in the cap use a socket from a socket set

Are you fucking stupid. Do you realize the extreme temperatures glass blowers use? Get a frill bit dude. I've heard a dremel bit works well also.

I know from experience that it does work great.

I've used a torch lighter to heat up a spot on glass bottle enough to push a glass downtube though it. You need a good lighter, or i should say torch as no one in their right mind would smoke with it. If you can't do that, buy a glass cutting bit and use it in any drill. You guys shouldn't go around calling other people stupid if you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

why dont you first try heating the glass up as hot as you can

You can buy a MAP gas torch from most hardware stores, its not as hot as oxy-acetylene but close. Its really small and portable. That would work good for small projects.
