Yes, exactly. They are found everywhere and use very little energy.

And yes, the natural sunlight is better than the halogen bulb. If you have the nice weather pput it outside in the direct sunlight for at least 4-6hours, no more than that though, or it may get burned. If you're doing it by a window, try to not let it sit there for too long or it will stretch. Turn the pot in front of the window everyday to make sure the stem grows straight.
