Amsterdam can be expensive. Some places will sell 500 ml bottles of coke for 2 euros but in 1 stoor i think it was albert hein o bought a 1.5 liter bottle of fanta for 1.50.

The coffeeshops usually sold buds in 2 grams, i saw a range from 11 euros to up tp 18 ish, if you go to the pink floyd you can buy 30 euros worth of any hash or grass and you'll get a freee joint. I recomend the mothers finest, we got 3.9 of that. I recomend finding de kroon, you won't regret it. I stayed there for like 4 days, spending money added up to maybe like 200 but i spent quite a bit. I dunno

Go to the Grey Area 1st (my suggestion) as they have quality weed. Try some AK-47 to start

Make a Map (before you go, stoner..) and mark all the coffeeshops on it you want to visit. After reading the reviews

When you get to your first coffeeshop - ask them for the coffeeshop map, they will know what you mean - its a nice fold out map with loads of coffeeshops on it, it will back up your own map.

Places like the Grey Area let you really take a good look at the weed and smell it etc. So go ahead - make the most of your trip in every way possible.

Go see the guy at the "Dutch Flowers" for Hash - he has tons of types, just tell him what you like. He's a big guy with a bald head and looks Fuck-Hard but he's a nice guy. My mate knocked a table over (plus drinks) and he laughed it off saying "It's a bar, shit happens" - You can buy beer there - very rare. I chose some hash and he said "no, try this one" as it would be smoother. He let me buy .5 gram deals so I got to try 4 different sorts of hash while I was in his shop - he was right on the money with each one. This guy was cool+1.
