Smoking Leaves??
Hey, I'm obviousely a new grower. I was wondering if you could smoke the leaves before harvesting time. I'm growing indoors and my plant will be too big and the leaves will be too distinct to hide from me parents. I know that if you just smoke the leaves, it wont be as good of a smoke than if you smoked after harvesting. I guess im just impatient and a little paranoid. Do you know of any really good places to hide plants in the house? Thanks

Smoking Leaves??
smoking the leaves won't do too much from what i've heard, never tried it myself. but even if it does, i wouldn't recommend it - it will severly stunt/kill your plant - no way to do any photosynthesis w/o any leaves. growing in the rents house is difficult, you could hide it somewhere but it really needs uninterrupted light for many hours (18 for vegetative stage, 12 for flowering, up to 24 as a seedling!). if you can find some place in the closet or in a wall or something like that it *could* work but conditions will be far from ideal.

Smoking Leaves??
Thanks for ur reply. Today I found an opening behind my dressor and i decidedd to lace it all with aluminum foil to seel the cracks where you are able to see lights beaming through. This will also reflect the light back on the plant. So that part turned out good.
I have covered the opening very well so no light is visible to make my parents suspiciouse. I am able to go through the seed stage with 24 hours of light easy but i have heard that that is too much. The problem starts when the first set of marijuana looking leaves come in. Thats the time that my parents will kick me out of the house lol. its all funny till someone gets cought. But yea, in the situation that I'm in, I think i'm ok. I've grown many plants already but this time i want the proccess to be fun and flawless. Or at least close. Right now im in the germination period. About how long till the whole things over?

Don't use tinfoil. Doesn't reflect much light despite popular belief. Use mylar or cardboard painted ultra flat white (not glossy).
24 hrs of light is fine for seedlings until about 2-3 weeks old. By then they should be ready to transplant into a larger pot, if you started them in something small like jiffy cubes. After that switch to 18 hrs/day.
The first set of "marijuana-looking" leaves usually are the first to grow after it sprouts - it sprouts with 2 round leaves, then the next to grow are 2 marijuana shaped leaves, it sort of alternates back and forth until the seedling is more fully grown, sometimes more leaves per set, sometimes less. Varies with different types. They are very small to begin with though.
With absolute best condiditions it will take 1-2 months vegetative stage and another month or so to flower - about the earliest you can switch to flowering (change to 12 hrs light/day instead of 18) is when its about 12" high, like Proof stated.
If you're growing it behind your dresser it's unlikely that it will be ideal conditions there, so it will probably take much longer. What's your lighting setup?

Smoking Leaves??
Thanks. grr this is so complicated for me. if i had my own house than id be way better off. Ive got 1 40watt light pretty close to the plant because i know thats not very strong at all. The little space is about 2 1/2 feet high and the space has a triangular shaped base. the base is about 1 foot on 2 sides and about 1 1/2 foot on the side that i have to block so light wont be visible.

first you said you were a new grower, then you said you have grown many plants. why lie? its obvious you dont know what your doing, and you dont have anyone to impress. meh. it depends on where you live, but i might try the attic, or just padlock your closet. growing in the house with parents seems like a fucking awful idea to me, and i can eisily invision a month from now saying "i just got kicked out! for the SECOND time!". if your serious about commercial farming, get a trailer or a shack in the woods. if your just doing it as a hobby, wait till next season, or if your just doing it for personal use, just buy for now, if you cant grow outdoors.
