    Earthworm farm...

Okay, i was goin around my garden today collecting worm castings and figured that better soil would mean better castings, i know the soil in my garden is shit and i want to make an earthworm farm using compost, that way hopefully i can get the best possible castings.

I just had a few questions if anyone can answer them,

-Will compost be too acidic and maybe burn the worms?
-Will the worms be happy in compost (i dont want to be cruel to them)
    -Is it worth the effort???

Hopefully someone can give me some answers soon so i can begin my little farm, thnx for your time, its much appreciated.

    Earthworm farm...

okay, ive just got some earthworms and put them in compost anyway, they are doing fine and are already eating the compost, while looking for earthworms i spotted a patch of moss, ive heard moss is good for soil but i dont know if this is the right moss, if someone can tell me whether its suitable for adding to my soil, the magnitude of my gratitude would exceed the worlds latitude, - or close enough....

    Earthworm farm...

I read a few earthworm articles, and never saw one single reference to moss, of any kind ... they like wet newspaper, rotting vegetables, and coffee grounds, though ... :smokin:

you are probably thinking of 'peat moss' ... best to just go buy a quality potting soil, available most anywhere ... mixing your own soil can be tricky, what with the pH changes ... keep it simple ... :smokin:
