"we" don't have to be anywhere actually. So far as we know, the human condition is nothing but a collection of billions of physical and mental processes. When the person dies, those processes all break down and the intricate system falls apart, and "we" fall apart into the decaying matter with everything else in existence. Just as if we took a car apart and returned all it's components back to the earth to the elemental level, the car would no longer exist.

For your information, we are all eternal beings. Just because your body breaks down doesn't mean you don't continue. Why do you think sleeping represents death? And by the way, cars don't have souls. Do cars dream?
