I don't think god exists because the idea of his existence is nearly as implausible as believing in superman... just with a wider support base.

However, saying you've never seen god isn't justification enough, IMO. You'll never see the laws of science, but they are often used to disprove god and supernatural occurrences such as ghosts. If you think faith is too much blind devotion, those of us who claim to be atheists ascribe to faith. I personally think that choosing sides is the result of giving up the intellectual battle for why we really exist. Most likely, I will live most of my life as an agnostic, and chose my side when I am near death.
