Back pains and marijuana..
About six months ago or so, I was riding in a vehicle that was involved in an accident, and something happened and I now have random back pains. At first I tried taking OTC pain relievers, and nothing worked. I next tried a few prescription pain killers, (lortab, oxycontin, darvocet..and maybe a couple of others) and nothing really seems to do much except give me a weird un-likable feeling and nearly eliminates my appetite..Now Cannabis..it's another story. I've always enjoyed the feeling from smoking it, and am now smoking it more regularly to alleviate my back pain, and give me no harmful or negative side-effects.
Does anyone else have the same problem..or maybe with just chronic pain in general and most pain relievers failing at being more effective than cannabis?Markass Reviewed by Markass on . Back pains and marijuana..
I've had some really severe back pain in just the last four days or so, and I'm sad to say I've not had any cannabis with which to treat it or I'd know the answer to this from a personal perspective. Back when I was smoking in the summertime, I still found that OTC meds like Advil or Motrin did the trick on headaches or muscle pain better than weed did, but I didn't smoke much weed even when we had it on hand back in the summer.
I finally went to the doc today for my pain and got some heavier-duty prescriptions. Stuff that I won't go into here because it's not cannabis-related. But I'll have to rely on the legally prescribed approach since it's all I have.\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

Back pains and marijuana..
I have chronic pain, and the chronic helps the pain more than any amount of Rx drug I have ever taken. Doctors think I'm a drug seeker because I tell them Rx pain meds do not take away my pain, yet I do not want anything to do with Rx pain meds.
For me, my everyday pain is very similar to that horrible "Don't touch me, even clothing hurts" as well as if something exerts moderate pressure on my skin, it feels like someone just slammed a knuckle sandwich into a sore bruise kind of pain- every day. If I took the prescribed pain meds, I'd simply become addicted to something that does not work, yet I am not addicted to cannabis, nor do I always smoke it; more often than not, I make brownies.
You're not alone, and I know how much it sucks to have pain every day...

Back pains and marijuana..
I have 2 protruding discs in my cervical spine and one in my lumbar.
The discs are getting the support they need to heal via PT and tons of isometric exercises.
I just picked up a Volcano a few days ago, and the pain relief is amazing compared to smoking. Not as heady a high, more body, but given the pain I've been in over the last few weeks, I'm all about the body relief.
I only take Aleve, I probably should take a Valium from time to time for the spasm relief.
Maybe tomorrow...~herbaltivo

Yes....been suffering with back problems for over 20 years...had surgery and all after an asshole drunk rear ended me....the painkillers DONT work, the prescription Marinol....works a little...but the real thing is what works....I think the drgreenthumb strain "Bubbakush" is the best for pain.....no tolerance build up and no anxiety or parinoid feelings.....I would also get checked for a herniated disk and nerve involvement....therapy may stop further damage and fix the problem...you look young....they didn't have the kind of therapies when I was injured that they have now....they really work but only if you do something before it gets worse....good luck
