I had a revelation
Im a Christian, and thats pretty much what i believe.
Im not like one of those, "Push the Bible down your throat" people though.
but you know that when someone trys to do that, they are just trying to look out for your best interest in the future, which would be heaven.

Anything that will make people better to each other is something good. Hell, America was founded by pissed off brits who wanted religious freedom.
I think most of the "bad christianity" is from when people take the bible literally. Yeah, I don't know where I'm going with this. I'm baked :rasta:

Christianity and all religions were created for a certain purpose. I can't say for sure, but I think at the time the higher up people wanted to sort of control their people, make them believe in something, to look forward to something, to live by something, and to put fear into them.
Thats my opinion.

I had a revelation
I'm not getting into a debate about christians, I was brought up protestant but I haven't to church in years and don't ever give it much thought. I seriously gotta tell ya though, I had a revelation once, I realized zeppelin were the greatest thing ever. That was kinda dick, anyway I was having sex, like last summer, pretty sure I was high. It was going really well and all and then I felt like I was seeing this bright whiteness and I felt this thing sort of telling me I should wait till marriage to have sex. It was wierd and had no effect on me what so ever. Guess this was barely worth posting, you were all having a serious talk...reefer and Free Bird, God bless

Not to mention the fact that the word "virgin" was actually a mistranslation from the original Hebrew "young girl". Kind of throws a wrench in that whole story, huh?

Anybody who's read the bible either has too much time on their hands or lives in a church :P
Actually when I was in middle school, a friend was fucking around in CCD and got sent home. As a result his dad grounded him until he read the entire bible.
I laughed at him for years.

religious systems suck
you should just follo9w some of the doctrines of the religions
many eastern religions were never meant to be religions they were doctrines but then people associated them with gods and rituals
bad idea

I had a revelation
I posted this earlier today in the Spirituality section in the thread, "Why God does not exist, in one sentence" (http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=86919)
My one sentence answer:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Because God does NOT exist as the personification we give him/her.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember, God (or by whatever name you call the force/energy responsible for all of creation) is beyond comprehension by our relatively small and puny intellects. In order to relate to such an incomprehensible/unimaginable energy we create personifications such as God(s), angels, ect. All these concepts, whether you realize it or not, are of one and the same.
By taking the personifications too far and personally we create human fallacies which are incompatible with logic and science.
Take it for what its worth. :twocents::weedpoke:

People are all individuals, saying christians do this and that is the same as saying black people do this or that or that people who smoke weed are all drug addicts. Pretty stupid. Christians are like anyone else, they arn't perfect, they still sin, they still make mistakes. I'm not going to try to get anyone to Belive what I belive, but if they really want to know something I'm glad to share what I can with them. We all have a free choice to belive what we want. I'm not going to judge people on what they do or belive, that isn't my place. It's Gods. My job is to follow My God the best I can and to try to follow in Jesus' examples and forgive and love my neighbor. If you want to hate me well great cause I love you and Jesus Loves you.
Well my eyes have seen the horror Of the coming of the flood I\'ve driven deep the thorny crown Into the soul of someones son Still l look you in the eye Cause I believed in things I\'ve thought And I\'ll die without regret For the wars I have fought
