Does anyone here know some good teqnuiqes or tips for clay bong and peice making? One particular problem of mine is I cant think of a good way to make the slide fit just right so that its air tight...

You should just make a very small hole, and then after you fire it, grind it out CAREFULLY with a roto-zip bit made for glass, and use a rubber grommet for the final fitting. I'll post 'in progress' pics next time I make a glass piece.

rubber grommets are the name of the game when it comes to airtight. If you want to ghetto rig you can use gum lol or maybe some type of glue. Gl with that i wonder how a clay bong would taste?

If I had to guess, probably 'earthy'...

but as suggested earler, use something to bore out the hole gently, then use a grommet...im sure you could find something at a hardware store that would work just fine. as a matter of fact, you could order a hookah grommet kit offline for like 3-4 bucks and you'd have several different size pieces to try and work with. good luck

if working with clay, id say just use a carb hole

Once you glazed the clay I dont think it would taste much differnt than glass

i wouldnt recommend glazing anything that gets hot

Id watch out with the clay. It seems like you might end up sucking a lot of clay dust into your lungs if you dont treat it somehow.
