White Widdow seeds - Step by Step Germination?

few ways to germinate. i'll give the most popular method.

get a small plate or bowl or dish or something.
take 1-2 paper towels, wet them down (damp, not soaking). easiest way is w/ a mister/spray bottle.
lay on plate or in bowl, whatever
    place seeds on top.
get more paper towels (2-4), do the same thing to them.
    place on top of seeds.

put somewhere warm (on top of fridge/hot water heater, etc)
check 2x a day or so.
make sure paper towels maintain moisture (do NOT let dry out). don't soak them either of course.

seeds will germinate anywhere from a day to a week or more. some might not at all but if you bought them, should be close to 100% germination rate within a few days. it can help speed up the process if you let them soak in a glass of water overnight before you put in paper towels (they should sink to the bottom of the glass).

when they crack open and the little white root comes out, it is germinated and ready for planting. i like to use jiffy cubes/pellets (small brown disc things made of compacted peat moss. water them and they expand to size of a golfball).

whatever you do make SURE you plant them shortly after they germinate. and also DON'T TOUCH IT (especially the root) with your hand or fingers. handle them gently with a pair of tweezers. very fragile at this point. make a hole with an eraser end of a pencil about 1/2" down in your planting medium. put seed in with root pointing DOWN and cover lightly with soil. water (not too much), cover with a small plastic sandwhich bag (humidity tent to maintain, well, humidity, duh... and temperature).

once they sprout out of the surface of the soil take the baggy off and place under light. you should be good to go at that point.
