Couple questions about rooting hormones

Heyas all

Started my first bag seed grow a couple days ago and its sprouted nicely under the 6 25w (100 watt equiv) cfls I picked up.

Been doin allot of reading lately and I'm curious about something I thought of here while I was reading.

I did a little bit of side research and what I found that gave me this idea was a state fair paper regarding general plants (corn, peas, etc...) starting from seed while using a rooting hormone (IBA to be exact) as a supplement to encourage higher percentages of germination and better overall starting root systems for the plants.

Most of the plants they tested using this method germinated sucsessfully (and quite rapidly) at about a 70% higher chance (or better) than simply using water and/or soil alone for germination.


Has anybody here has tried this for seed germination with thier plants ?


I'm using bag seed right now for my first grow, but when I get some higher quality genetics I would like the plant to have the best possible chance of growing to its full potential. Wouldnt we all ?


I would like to think this would allow a much better chance at sucsessful germination and also possibly allow the plant to develop a healthy root system quicker than normal. But then again, I'm still a rookie at all this....


Has anybody tried this ?

If so, what were the results like ?

Did it sprout faster ?

Was the plant also more vigorous in the later stages of life ?



Just curious if anybody here has tried this.

...I used a root stimulator (by ferti-lome)..after each transplant...are we talking about the same thing?...I never thought about it for germination proposes. We need to hear..from the pro's....
