    Leftover plant material

Ok, this may be a fairly stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyways...

After my grow is completed, I'd like to make hash. I was planning on making the hash where you run the leftover plant material over a silk screen and collect the trichomes that fall through.

However, I was wondering if I could then take the plant material that doesn't fall through and then make cannabutter with that. There is still THC in the leaves that can be extracted, correct?

Also, what parts of the plant can I use when doing this? I know the leaves can be used, but can I also use the branches/main cola stem? Should I grind that up or what?

Personal experiences would be appreciated. Any advice is welcome. Thank you and take care!!

    Hey bud_breath...

Thanks for the response. I know about making hash, and that video you posted is the method that I'm going to use. But you know how on that video the dude has all that leftover green plant material? Well, it certainly has to have some THC in the leaves, right? If so, can't I just make cannabutter out of it? I'm not going to smoke leaves. haha. That would just be silly. Cannabutter maybe...if I can find out if there is still going to be THC in the leaves after I make my hash.

    Can anyone else help?

why not use alcohol to recover that thc, I do it with my clippings and works very well. dry out the clippings, mash em up, put in a jug with 97% or better alcohol and put in the freezer for a few days, shake it every once in awhile too. after those few days, strain with nylons or a coffee filter; go outside and boil the alcohol on an electric hot plate till it evaporates (it gets tricky at the end, don't burn the residue) once boiled off, the greenish tar at the bottom should be scrapped onto wax paper. Let that stiffen and dry out more for a day (you don't have to, but less messy) and finally go smoke the crap out of it.
A little dangerous, but way safer than butane extraction, you might look that up too.

yeah, it works but the final product is a very poor substitute for what you'd get if only spending a little more time and effort making 'the real deal'. bubblebags are the best method i've found for turning the leftovers into something to be proud of instead of a black-ish green goo that's not a whole lot better than mulching the stuff...
