I think Someuser had it right. Having a taller guy is about a feeling of being protected. We tend to lean toward someone who's taller than we are who can symbolically "defend" us. Everything I've read, too, indicates that there's almost an unconscious, evolutionarily driven desire to combine genes with someone who's going to father tall, strong, healthy children who'll perpetuate and even improve on our genetics. I think that comes into play, too.

My husband is 6' 4" and I'm 5' 10". We're a tall lot. Our son is 6' 3" and I'm not sure if he's finished growing or not. I think he probably has.
birdgirl73 Reviewed by birdgirl73 on . Height Women seem to always say they prefer a tall man. This isn't an issue for me (I'm roughly 6'), but I don't see how it really matters. The biggest Cassanova I know is 5'7", I don't see what difference it makes. I'll admit I wouldn't like a woman taller than me, but if women just want a man taller than them, I mean.....My female friend is 5'3" and she wouldn't like a 5'6" man; if she's 5'3" it doesn't matter if the guy's 5'6" or 6'5".
