ah back in the day, when i was growing outside, used to mix horse shite, sand, perlite, topsoil, what ever i found realy... i mean it is a "weed" :thumbsup:

nowerdays i just go with biobizz all mix bags, there a little pricey for a bit of ground, but i re-use it.

Go to home depot and buy some organic potting soil with no additives other then perlite, there are some other healthy ingreediants that could be in there but you dont know which ones so just go with what i said if your looking for a cheap bag.

nah, just pulled out all the roots. i dont use fertilizers, but i think im going to start, seen some rely nice plants on these forums. plus im going to try indoors.

It is not recommended to bring in soil from out doors because of bug problems, when that soil is used outside, there are natural predators that regulate allot of infestations, but in doors you can have problems right off of the bat.
There are ways to use out side soil inside, but then you still have to choose the right kind of soil and then sanitize it, seems like allot of work when you can just go and get a bag of decent soil for 15, 20 bucks.
I like Black Gold Organic, it is sold at most garden stores.
