Yea, with some bongs (Your bong sounds like mine), it's got a fairly large hole at the bottom of the bowl-piece.

Make sure to break off a pretty good-sized piece of bud and use that to block the bottom, then fill and pack it from there. And do realize that the weed needs to light up more and longer than a normal bowl to get a good hit.

My First Bong Hey guys, just got my first bong today (I've only taken one hit from it so far, never any bong hits before), and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I light the weed, and I inhale to fill the chamber with smoke, with my thumb over the hole. Now even though I have my thumb on the hole, I'm getting a lot of smoke in my mouth and some in my lungs, and the chamber isn't filling up very well.
