How many plants under a 1000W(HPS) to maximize the yield?

After reading all your reply, Iâ??ve decided to use Racerxâ??s technique and go with 16 plants under my 1000W (HPS).

Now just to be 100% sure, how tall should I allow each plant to get before switching to 12/12 so I maximize the space and of course â?¦ The yield

Also, should I top using this setting ?
