    Ever thought about quitting

I've quite numerous times, sometimes for weeks, sometimes for months, a couple of times for years. Why did I quit? No earth-shaking reasons, really: got tired of the price a few times, and it just wasn't a big priority at some points in my life.

The main reason I started this last time didn't have a ton to do with me; the woman has some medical conditions that cannabis helps with, and hell, the various medicinal benefits are there for me too. And I am getting older so anything I can do to extend my life, I'll give it a shot. Of course, I do like a good buzz too. Heh.

In my family, 'drugs' are kinda looked down on, and my family basically breaks down into two camps: the drinkers and the tokers. The drinkers look down on the tokers (drugs are bad, m'kay?). The tokers in my family (including me) don't have a ton of problem with the drinkers; they wanna drink, that's their choice. Of the drinkers, three are dead...because of drinking. With the tokers in my family...no problems.

    Ever thought about quitting

I was a pretty heavy smoker (1/4+ a week) for about 15 years. Then I quit for 5 years. Not for any one reason in particular, there was just a lot going on in my life: new career, new wife, new country (yes country), etc etc. I just kind of grew away from it until one day I just thought to myself "hey, I quit smoking weed"

During that 5 year period there were many times when I really would have loved to smoke a bowl. Like one of those perfect fall days, when the weather is just right, and there's nothing nicer than just kickin back on a lawn chair and smoking a fat one.

It was during this time that I started to get really painful muscle spasms in my back, from a previous injury, and a friend recommended I try marijuana to help with the pain. So I did and it helped enormously. I also came to the realization that I was a smoker. It wasn't that I was addicted, but you can't do anything for 15 years and not have it effect your personality somehow. There's a certain type of person that likes to smoke and whether or not you stop smoking you are still that person.

Now I once again consider myself a smoker but not nearly as much as I did before. Now I'll smoke 4-5 times a week, and only at night after I'm done with work and the little one is in bed. It hasn't had any negative effect on my life or career so why the fuck not??
