If you don't already have one, an essential purchase for any kitten-laden home: a laser pointer! That's gotta be one of the most fun and cost-effective entertainment devices ever created for cats.

I take in strays too. We have five cats now (even though our legal limit is four), and all have come off the street or from shelters. All are fixed, of course. I love animals in general, but cats are definitely my favorite. The woman says I should've been a vet, because I'm so good with animals. But...I would not be good at putting them to sleep, which is sometimes necessary and the most humane thing to do in some situations. I wouldn't last six months if I had to do that; it'd destroy me emotionally. I'm like superglue with animals: I bond in seconds!
