Rice-a-dilla = Best Food Ever. here's how to make it

Okay. So now that I got you to read this, I am going to tell you how to make THE best quesadilla known to humankind. Hang on... I have to stop and take a bite of it right now...oohh that is soo much better. Wow. Here's how to make the damned thing:

How To Make a Rice-a-dilla (herbal supplementation optional)

    1. Find yerself a skillet. Fit a tortilla into the skillet. Make sure it fits flat on the bottom, without the edges curling up the sides of the pan.

    2. Coat the pan *generously* with cooking oil (I like canola the best) over medium heat. You don't want to submerse the tortilla, but you want to saturate it with oil leftover to keep it from sticking.

    3. Place shredded cheese (your choice; best ones are colby, sharp cheddar, and those pre-packaged Mexican Blend cheeses) in a thick layer on the tortilla.

    4. Place cooked white rice (leftover works really well) on top of cheese. This layer should be in about equal proportion to the cheese you just layered on. (OPTIONAL - butter rice with cannabis butter prior to adding to quesadilla. ;-) )

    5. Add lots more shredded cheese. Be generous.

    6. Top with other tortilla.

    7. Cover with lid or tinfoil to allow steam to melt the cheese.

    8. When bottom tortilla starts to puff and become crispy throughout and golden-brown on the edges, it's time to flip. I like to use a large spatula underneath with a fork or something flat to stabilize the top side. Flip the rice-a-dilla carefully to cook the other side.

    9. When second side is crispy, you are ready to EAT!

Optional: top with sour cream and diced tomatoes.

This is one of those bland-Midwestern-comfort-food recipes I acquired in childhood. Please enjoy responsibly. And don't come cryin' to me if it is bland. You'll secretly love it for its utter lack of excitement. It's reliable, predictable, there for you every time you need it. Love it. Live it. The Rice-a-dilla.

Damn that sounds delicious. I love rice dishes myself and when I go to the grocery this weekend I'll be sure to try it out.

Do you think if you added lots of butter on the rice/cheese you could add weed and get baked off of it?

I'm kind of getting into ganja cooking lately.

Yeah you could definitely add butter. I would cook the rice plain then smother it it butter before adding it to the quesadilla.

YUM. I wish I had tortillas. I have wanted a rice-a-dilla for DAYS now. Maybe I should go to the store!

Let me know how you like it

Nice, but I'd deffinatly jazz that up a bit. Steak, ground venison maybe, use a burrito mix or fahita mix with chicken and red n green peppers ahh the possibilitys are almost endless.

    lol
that's the point... it's majorly bland and boring but sooo good.

I just thought we could discuss the finer points of non-cuisine.

I *warned* you in my original post!

I think it's funny that we're discussing this topic though.
