    Help - Growing (Newbie)

I dunno about the U.K. but right about now I dont think you'd be wanting to waste that seed on something thats gonna fail. If you cant create an indoor garden right now then just wait until next year. And dont let people fool you and make you think cannabis is a special plant, remember it came originated with the rest of the plants and trees outside and it survived many years without the help of humans. A good rich spot in the earth with sufficient water and light will do the trick, even if your buds are not as fat as those that have a damn good set-up, they are still smokeable .

    Help - Growing (Newbie)

The real problem here is the fact that you want/ it has to be grown by the sunlight and at the moment its fall [When all cannabis plants are maturing and nearly read if not ready for harvest.

That means your plant will only be getting around 14 hours of light, and that'll keep getting shorter untill its at 12/12. The plant would flower as soon as its mature enough, and not produce the amount its easily capible off.

Your best of waiting till next year and growing completely outside, you'd get a very nice harvest, or you'll have to get some lighting.

CFL's are good as long as you have enough, and you can still get good yeilds with them.

Highest wattage is the best idea.

OR, you could veg inside and make a green house sort of thing and flower outside, but it'd be very cold so you'd be best of doing the whole grow inside.

Another problem with growing on a window sill is you wouldnt be able to get enough direct sunlight. And this is what it needs.

Out of the already small 13 -14 hour day you'd only get a very small percent of that in derect sunlight, which will cause stretcghing, stress and than can either turn a plant hermie, make it yeild silly amounts or even make it so bad it'll just fall over and die.

And anything about this amazing strain i have, 90% sativa with a very old school WEED smell with a bit of spice to the buds give me an email. I'll sort you some out cheap mate.

Cheaper than these sites though aye? At bloody 20 - 30 quid per pack of 10???

    RIP OFF!!!

    would this even work?
Your mate is actually correct. If you put the seed in a dark spot and submurge it in warm water it will start to sprout a little and thats when you plant it and expose it to sunlight and periodically water it. From there, of course it gets more complicated as time goes on, but those are the basics.

Marijuana grows very rapidly and very easily. I remember even someone on these forums made a thread how a plant started growing in an old smoke spot where the guy must have been breaking up weed, and tossed a seed they came across on the ground.

The way your friend desribed growing will work for about 2 or 3 weeks, then the plant will require food and proper lighting. If no food is provided, there is a good chance it will die from starvation, aka. a defiency.

After the first 2 or 3 weeks of life, a plant will require food for the stage it is now entering, called the Vegetative stage. There are 3 sets of numbers on a container of ferts., they stand for N-P-K. For vegging, the plant will need something high in N (Nitrogen). Without it, again, it may die from starvation.

I would worry about that stage right now. Germinate the seeds by placing them inbetween layers of wet paper towel. Place is a warmish, dark area, and keep the paper towels wet at all times. Do not let it dry out. Once the seed has a taproot about an inch long, you can now plant in soil. Again, keep that soil moist at all times until you see the plant first pop.

Get to the stage where the plant first pops through the soil, then go onto the next stage.

You will need proper lighting or you will get nada. Put it outdoors and let mother nature do its thing, but if you're like me, winter is starting and indoors is ideal. Keep the light on for 18hrs, then 6hrs off.

    Anymore q's, just ask.
That sounds soo confusing lol so basically im doing what you said with the wet towel now, as you said keep it wet at all times so tomorow im guessing it would of dried up a little bit so do i take the seed out for a min while i go and wet it again under the sink??

I seriously know nothing about growing but theres no harm im trying lol i suppose i can only get better not worse.

So if i do that and then plant it and just leave it by the window and water it after 2-3 weeks it will definately die??

Also, the strain i think is female (red hair its called something like that, ever heard of it?? :s)

    Ty for your help ppl

It's not the strain that is female. Each strain has male plants and female plants. You cant tell from a seed, and its in the genetics. You may get lucky, but if its a male thats it. It's basically useless, and i dont think you'd get any real hash from it either.

It might not die, you might get lucky, but you'd have a small yeild.

Get a few grow books and do your research on the net. I say stay away
from asking questions on the net though, cause from what I have seen
a lot of miss-information is posted. Keep your first grow as simple as you
can don't dive into all that glitter and bull shit keep it to your basics soil,
lighting, and nutes. I would suggest compact fluorescent for a first grow
I used them myself a while back and they do have good results. Those
lights are cheap and you can find them at almost any store plus they fit
in a standard light socket. Go check out the compact fluorescent sticky
    on the indoor grow forum.

    Help - Growing (Newbie)

It turns into a hobby. I cant BEAR to see my grow room emty, its like a part of life is missing. It's the best hobby ever, you get to care for a lovely plant, tell it all your problems, and when you harvest it and smoked it all up all your problems go. Theres nothing better than smoking home grown.

    Good stuff
