A "drug" is any biologically active molecule that can be isolated or manufactured and is commonly used in medicine or as self-medication by a population for treatment of physical or mental discomfort.

At least that's how I'd define it.

So yes... THC is a drug, and Cannabis is the plant it comes from. "Marijuana" is the government's derogatory label for this plant (formerly known commonly as "hemp").

And yes, THC is also a psychoactive drug.

But is it the safest and most enjoyable drug known to man? (YES!)

To me, a drug is anything used to change the way the body normaly operates. This is a very broad definition, and therefore includes weed. It however also includes things like cafeine and many other common things that people don't normaly think of as drugs.
