This stuff is all over the place, but being relatively new myself, I wont berate you for it. If you go to google and search for "mj grow guide" you should be able to find a lot. anyway, what I did was take a pencil and press the eraser end down into the soil about as deep as the eraser. Then put your seed in with the sprout pointing DOWN. then lightly cover with more soil so its not too hard for it to sprout up through your soil. I watered mine until the water was just starting to come out of the drain holes at the bottom. You dont need to water them again until you can stick your finger in the soil and it feels dry. But dont jam your finger in to check be gentle and dont stick your finger in too far. basically if the top .25" to .50" of soil is dry is pretty safe to water again. I only have to water mine every 3 to 5 days, but I am using Miracle Gro Moisture Control, which holds water a bit longer than most soils do I believe.
