Taking on a friends project (pics) well turns out my friend who also gave growing atry for the first time has an apartment inspection tom., and i am given the task of taking on his plants.. first off i know he hasnt done much but water it and both plant were under 1 42w cfl now i need some advice on what to do with them, the one in the bucket is obviously way too far down into the bucket, not really sure what to do about it, would it be alright to transplant? both the plants seem to be lacking something, im not anywhere Rating: 5

ive been a little busy the last few days, but tom, maybe the next day will be the day i do it..
Ive decided to not repot the biggest one that is in the bucket, main reason is its not mine i took on my friends project for him while he was going through inspection at his appt. I had planned on repotting both but instead he wants to be an asshole about some things so i decided that im not doing the work for him, if he doesnt want to do the research or listen to what i have to say about things than he can learn the hard way. Me on the other hand since im keeping the smaller one it will be repotted into a 5 gal bucket as soon as i pick up some potting soil..

one thing i need to know is what would be the best soil to use, i know that is a very common question, but yet again id like to hear it from someone whos had good experiences with certain types.. I plan on putting sand in the bottom and filling it 3/4s the way and planting it to make it alittle smaller..

heres some pics, not much new with the big one since i topped it (wish i wouldnt have).. i havnt noticed any growth sinceand starting to wonder if its going to produce 2 new shoots or not, takes time so ill be patient, just curious. the medium sized is comming along nicely and since im keeping it i have focused majority of the lights onto it and to my smallest, i plant on LST as soon as its put into the bucket.

leme know though on what would be the best soil to use.. thanks everyone!

1) biggest plant (chopped the top off about 3 days ago, how long before new shoots come up?)(not mine)
2) medium sized plant ( the plant planned for the 5 gal bucket and LST)
3) my smallest plant (just as old as the other two, suffered from bugs eating the roots, only just now in the last week or so started comming back around)

I ended up taking the big one out of the picture all together for reasons stated above, i repotted the medium sized plant into a 5 gal bucket and buried it up to its first set of leaves to give it some more room. I put the smallest into the pot the other one came out of, heres the pics..

1) is this potting soil ok to use? i stayed away from MG potting soil and got some jungle grow or something..
2) just curious to why the leaves never seem to regain their color and constantly seem to be turning more yellow everytime i look at it (smaller plant) any adivce would be appreciated. leme know how im doing (more lights to come soon)

i dont know what you guys are looking at but those plants lack some serious Nitrogen use the nutes you have (5-1-1) use 1/4 of what is called per gallon give her a few days and see if new green growth comes in

Iv read if the tips get really yellow and crispy you have heat or nute problems..

but if the whole dam plant yellow your plant needs nutes? idk if this is right but its my impression!

Well after posting the pictures, no one really pointed out that there was a problem, but i knew it was something so i bought the fish emulsions.. im not really sure how much to add but i filled the bottom of a 14 oz spray bottle (bout an oz of 5-1-1 i guess didnt really try to be exact and just added water to the top) water was brown and smelled like it looked, hopefully that wasnt too much but since its organic i dont think it will burn.. im not too good on the nute process, might be the only thing i still have serious questions about, but none the less added that and we'll see how they react, if i dont get any reaction ill know to add more next time, vice versa, but since i already watered them after transplanting i hope i didnt overwater them this time.. only time will tell. thanks for the responses, i wonder why no one else pointed this out, could have been taken care of last week...
