    ~Log of a Budding Lowryder~

Alright guys, i had to make a thread for my 1st grow (happening to be the controversial lowryder strain) and as of now it's day 28 and flowering is ago . I'm using a single 100 watt cfl in a large nightstand and have added flowering/bloom ferts to the soil a few days ago. it seems i got the "large" phenotype so hopefully this baby will bud up to around 15 grams. But I'm getting ahead of myself...countless pistils are growing every day and my gal's emitting a nice planty yet potty smell  .

these are flowering pics of my girl...never grown a plant before let alone one that's flowering so tell me what you guys think! all questions or comments are appreciated

That is very impressive, grown under just one 100 watt CFL. Your lowyrder looks extremely healthy.
[align=center]Cannabis has done nothing but help myself and others I know. It is a beneficial plant. Anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant and/or brainwashed. It should not be illegal anywhere in the world.

I just started my lowryder grow five days ago. Do you by any change remember how quickly your plant got its second nodes? I don't know if this is the case, but it seems like my lowryder is growing rather slowly compared to my experiemental bag seed grow. I'm five days in, and the second set of real leaves are just now starting to form.

I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong. Lights are really close, temp and humidity are good, its plenty watered. This is just strange.

Could it be that since it's a small strain that it just doesn't form new foliage as rapidly as other larger strains? I'm puzzled.

thanks guys  i'll keep ya updated

But ya about ur question man, lowryder (or at least mine) grows exponentially. Meaning that it grows pretty slow, then new leaves start coming, and eventually it grows new leaf formations every day.

My second set (beside the clover leaves) were obviously formed and much larger than the clovers at around day 7, so i'd say your situation is completely normal. if you look in the very middle junction you should probably see little tiny leaf structures coming very soon

Well done mate for havin such a successful grow! I wish i had ur plant n all lol, did you say you had somethin like 20 flowers! Dude im gettin jealous
Is youre cfl a 6400k light or 2700k? I got mine under the vegatative light but duno if i shud change it, i no lowryder doesnt really mind which one but there must be some kind of difference? I cant wait to see you're buds cluster together!

ya this is my light bro
    [attachment=o93439]

it's a pretty simple little light, it's a 3-way and i just keep it on the highest (it's supposed to compare to a 150 watt standard bulb) but it's a cfl/plant happy.

But don't feel down at all bro, it really just comes down to the phenotype (plant genetics from it's moma/papa) and you just got the more compact phenotype from that seed. I don't think any light would change that, but be happy bro, you're gona be smoking homegrown dank in a couple weeks

Hope that you know thats not 100watts of light, its only 28 watts. I wonder how many grams you'll get with only 28 watts of light..

lumens are what's important here, and cfl's have plenty of them. That "28 watt" bulb emits near 5 times the lumes of a 100-watt incendecent bulb. And I'm adding one more tonight...

someone wana look at my gal and tell me she looks unhelathy?

what features strike out to you as lack of light on my pics man?

as far as the yield, come back to this thread in a few weeks and we'll see who's right..until then back off...plenty of members have grown sucessful single plants under one cfl, all grow guides state "try and have at least 25 watts per square foot". Well guess what? my gal's just under a square foot....hmmmmm....and you said the bulb emits only 28 watts???? well according to your theory i'm still ahead of the game, and by the way bro, watts is the energy the light is using, not the amount of light the plant is getting, that would be lumens buddy

good news guys, just reached the big 10" high mark for my gal. .

and also, there are at leadt like 10 pistil "bushes" on the tops of various braches on my plant which makes me very happy and they smell very tasty

got a question though for the growers here:

at what point do the seperate pistil "bushes" acually bud up and cover the actual branch???

    and...

do new pistils grow on top of the older ones when budding becomes rapid (i figure in the next week) or do they simply bunch up next to eachother with new leaves//foliage???

    ~peace~
