Exactly!! Nothing like buying weed that comes with a label. "For medicinal use only. Not for Resale" LOL

I know what Dusan is saying though. Weed down here in the San Francisco area is expensive. We pretty much only get dank, chronic, or whatever you want to call it and prices are anywhere from $45-60 an 1/8th. But that has to do more with supply/demand and the fact that everything else around here is more expensive too. Prices are different in different areas, no doubt about it. And, prices for some high quality organic grown chronic will, and should be, higher than for schwagg. But I don't think that's what Dusan is talking about.

It's the whole strain-name game that a lot of dealers on the street have seized on to make a few extra bucks. I buy medical and, yes, there is a difference in the prices of the various strains. But it's only $10 or so more per 1/8th for something really special. And, because it's medical you can trust the source. I'm always seeing posts on here though that say something like "I normally pay $30 for an 1/8th of dank but my dealer says he has white rhino for $80, should I buy it?" . Chances are it's probably not really white rhino and not much better than the dank he usually has. Unless you're comparing the prices of shitty Mexican brown to some great chronic the prices shouldn't be doubled or more.

Unless your dealer routinely has different strains, and you know from experience that a higher price strain will be better, beware of anyone who suddenly claims to have "Puprle Haze", "White Widow", etc etc. And, never, never pay more than 20-25% more for different weed in the same catagory (catagory meaning schwagg, mids, chronic, etc)

in reality cannabis should cost like 3.50 per pound..... cause just like from that brochure on canna dot com main page one ton of it cost 15$ in like 1913 or some shit like that
the only reason cannabis is even popular is because of cannabis prohibition.
i would say more but its my responcibility not to blow the lid on how prohibition is going to end.

That's like saying, don't you think all gold should cost the same, whether it's 10k or 24k? Why would 5 percent THC pot cost the same as 22 percent THC pot? Doesn't the good stuff last longer than the bad stuff? (More highs per ounce.)

If you can get 40 quality highs from bag A and 200 quality highs from bag B, doesn't it make sense that bag B costs more?

Excellent point jams, and one that a lot of people have trouble with. But the problem is dealers who charge double for 22% THC than they do for 20% simply because it has a name. Or, even worse, dealers who have no idea what the strain is and just give it a name to get a higher price.

I hear ya, shady lying over-greedy dealers suck. They're somewhat self-regulating though: once word gets out that they're dishonest, their clientele moves on to someone with a better reputation. And once you find an honest dealer, you tend to stop looking for others except as emergency backups.

I've had the same dealer for 17ish years now. I don't actually buy from him anymore, as I supply myself. I do let him get some of my excess though, which is always a 'name brand' strain. Of course, I'm taking the word of the seedbanks that when I order a strain, that's actually what I end up getting. And my dealer friend is taking my word that when I hand him a QP or whatever of a specific strain, that it actually IS that strain. But we've known each other long enough that there is trust between us.

He does charge what the market will bear (to an extent anyway), but I don't blame him for that, and his customers are always very happy when I've dumped a load on him, because high quality stuff, named or not, is just super rare around here, and rarity adds to the price. Most of his customers buy his mids, then every couple months they get the opportunity to have a very high quality named treat, thanks to me. That high quality stuff is so rare around here that even when I drop him off a QP, he won't LET anyone buy more than a quarter ounce, maybe a half ounce tops, even if they throw piles of money at him, because then fewer people would be able to smoke the good stuff, and his customers are pretty much all friends too. He's the best, coolest, most honest dealer I've ever known, which is why his customers have remained his customers for decades. I let him get whatever I have excess of, for $200/ounce (no quantity discounts). He could sell it for more than $400/ounce, but because I'm nice with my price, he's nice to his customers too, and doesn't try to gouge too hard. So everyone is happy, me, him, and his customers.

That's really the ticket: find a good, honest dealer and latch onto him forever.
