    Does tThe Queen of England....???

Speaking as an American, then, let me just say God Save the Queen. You could do a lot worse that a constitutional monarchy like England has, Yeag. They don't necessarily think of themselves as serving a queen, anyway. They think of themselves as English citizens, then subjects somewhere down the list. The English people are well represented through their parliamentary system.

England happens to be one of my all-time favorite places. A lovely country with lovely people possessing lovely manners has been my impression. They deserve our respect and affection--and, frankly, our gratitude for the fact that they recently averted the liquid explosives terror plot on American-bound aircraft with their superior anti-terrorism intelligence work.

Hmmm. Let me get this straight. So you'll live in a country where Bush, Cheney and their administration subvert democracy and freedom at every turn but not in a country where there's a royal family who has no power whatsoever over anyone?

Just saw your latest post. Like you don't pay taxes here for stuff you don't believe in? Give me a break.

Dude... you guys, it's *all* bullshit. It doesn't matter where you live. There are corrupt governments in every country. Power corrupts; it's unavoidable. The type of corruption you prefer? Well, that's personal preference, and I say, step off and stop arguing about a question to which there is no real answer.

As for me... I freaking loved England but who am I to pass judgment on a country in which I've never lived as a citizen?

And as for the Queen... I bet she eats barbecue flavor potato crisps every chance she gets. I bet there is a whole stash in one of her hatboxes. She probably sits in the dressing room and shovels them in when no one's looking.

Yes... yes, I definitely think she eats potato chips.

I doubt I’ll ever be able to understand the unique nationalism that some people manifest in their monarchs but I don’t think it would effect where I would live. I’m an American no matter what; I couldn’t change that if I wanted to.

I think I argue with you, Yeag, because you often say the dumbest things. If you'll review, you'll notice that you were the first to write something about not serving a queen on a so-called "silly thread about chips."

And just for the record, one more argument. You must have me confused with someone else. I'm not Jewish. I come from a long line of Protestant Christians, and I'm a happy agnostic.
