I've experimented quite a bit with salvia and since it is relatively new to many people, I thought I'd share my "wisdom" with you guys. A lot of this can be found on other sites, but my views on this drug differ from other people so I figured I should give you a different take on salvia.

I've given salvia to almost everyone in my group of pot-smoking friends and for many of them, it was their first time. I've seen all sorts of reactions, and everybody's experience with the drug is different. Even for one person, it is very different every time you try it. One guy thought he was a tooth in a zipper and that the room was the zipper that went on infinitely in either direction. I witnessed a girl have an orgasm ( I SHIT YOU NOT ) on her first time and then time travelled to the Renaissance era the second time. One person thought that the entire universe had faded away and that he was the only thing left in existence and that he too would soon fade away. Yet another girl entered a world that was a children's TV show in claymation. (Specifically Eureka's Castle, the old show from Nickelodeon). Point being, every experience is vastly different from one to the other.

Now that we've got that point out of the way, I have to say something. Many people talk about salvia as a spiritual or deeply personal experience. Honestly, from my own experience ( trying it almost a dozen times myself ) and from experiences of many friends, I would have to say that this is not necessarily so. That being said, it is still something that needs to be done responsibly and in the presence of somebody who knows what they are doing and has preferably tried it themselves. Know that this drug will make you completely incoherent for up 20-30 minutes. Do not use it while driving and ALWAYS be sitting or laying down. I can not stress this enough. I've seen a few people try to get up and they end up just stumbling around and knocking shit over. I also saw a girl try to pull out her lip ring because she thought it was a tiny fish trying to get inside her mouth. NEVER TRY THIS DRUG ALONE, EVER. Always have a "trip sitter". Always. You could end up harming yourself very seriously. If the person trying salvia starts freaking out, the trip sitter must remember to keep them seated/laying down and reassure them that everything is ok, and that the state of mind they are in was caused by salvia, and that it will all be over in a few minutes. Those are the two things that you should tell somebody if they are freaking out. They smoked salvia, which is what is causing them to feel this way, and that it will be over very very soon. Often times after smoking salvia you forget why you are in that state of mind and you detach yourself from any concept of time and you may get frightened into thinking that you will never escape the bad trip you are having. Holding their hand or shoulder while you are talking to them and trying to get them to look at you is also a good idea.

Now that we've got safety and philosophy out of the way, let's talk about how to use salvia. I recommend starting out at a low strength if nobody around has tried it before. If there is an experienced person in the room, and by experienced I mean has tried it several times and has been around other people while they are tripping, then try a higher strength if you feel confident. That being said, the higher the strength, the higher the intensity of the trip. Another thing, if you are all trying it out, ONLY ONE PERSON AT A TIME. Trust me, you don't want more than one person tripping out on salvia at a time. It could result in personal danger and chaos. Seriously. I alwlays try to smoke salvia from a bong. Salvia is much harsher than marijuana, and smoking it out of a simple pipe doesn't allow you to take the massive hits that facilitate an intense trip. Pack enough for one person to take 2-3 very large hits, and you should try to smoke all of it in the shortest amount of time possibile. If you can't finish it, then you can't finish it. Oh well. Once you get to the point that you can't smoke any more, then that means you are starting to trip and you don't need any more anyways. Now, being that salvia is considered a deeply personal and spiritual drug by many people, what I am about to recommend may not fly with everyone, but in my MANY MANY experiences, this is what I have learned. It may sound crazy, but it's true and if you disagree, then don't do it. Anyways, I recommend being drunk and/or high when you smoke salvia. For whatever reason, especially with being drunk, the trip is always much more intense. All of the most intense experiences that I and my friends have had where when they were drunk. However, keep in mind that everyone else will probably also be drunk, and this can be another safety hazard. Drunk people tend to react differently to situations than sober people, and if somebody is having a bad trip, an intoxicated person may have a harder time calming them down or knowing what to do.

Also, make sure you clean your bowl out VERY THOROUGHLY after use as the salvia residue may cause you to trip out when you smoke pot out of the same bowl. It has happened to me two or three times and it's never a pleasant thing to get hit with a surprise salvia trip when you just want to puff some reefer.

Alright, that's all I have to say about salvia. Experiment with it yourself. You may not agree with me on all points, but anything that I've written about safety is absolutely and universally true.

Tune in, turn on, and drop out. But remember, BE SAFE KIDS.
