    My hash? is too "dry"

I was gifted about 100g of buds for an old favour and decided to try to make some hash. I ground half the buds and put them in a container of 500ml of Isopropyl alcohol and shook furiously. I repeated this once a day for over a fortnight. I then put the liquid through a kitchen strainer into a baking dish, and let the solvent evaporate off indoors over another fortnight. I have ended up with a much blacker, dryer, crumbly substance than I was expecting.... Can anybody give me any tips on making it more putty like?? I would like to be able to make "snakes" with it. Can I add a small amount of some sort of vegetable oil?
I would also like to try again with the remaining bud. Any ideas for a better result next time?? I guess I left the stuff too long in the solvent and also didn't use a fine enough filtering device....

Dont use that method, it sucks.

Heat it and it should be softer.

That sounds more of a method to make Hash oil, not actual hash.

To make hash, there are a few ways to do it. A bubblebag is one way, but you need several hundred grams to use those.

Ice hash or cold water hash is another.

The method I use is the dry seiving method. I find it works the best and it can be done in a mtter of 15min. That's done by shaking the trichs from the leaves.

If you want a more detailed version on how to make it, just ask.

that's ISO hash or QWISO it won't be anything like "squidgy black" (as we sometimes call it in th UK) because the QWISO method pretty much 'strips' the THC from the weed straight into solution.

But leaving it for 2 weeks seems a long time.

QWISO should be 30 secs to 1 min or so with 90%+ Isopropyl alcohol, followed by gentle heating over water to help the Iso evaporate.

The remaining mateial left on your heating plate/bowl should be damn near to pure thc - give or take some plant material. This should be a kick ass smoke.

That's the methos i use. The way it get a crystall catcher grinder, or as Nochowder said.

This way gives you some of the purest, easiest smoke, and it very quick... not a two week job. And it involves everyones best friend, the OVEN.

    High All,
Just returned from a trip to the jungle...Thanks for your replies. Without wishing to sound extremely stupid could Delta9UK (or anybody else) explain what is meant by "heating over water" to quicken the evaporation of the Iso. Do you just heat (boil??) a pot of water and stick the baking dish on the top?? I'm a bit shy with the combination of heat and alcohol....
Also I would love your info Nochowderforyou on the dry sieving mehod, although I will have to wait to use it another day. I have already ground up 95% of the stash as a friend told me that this would give a bigger "surface area" to allow for more extraction of THC from the bud by the solvent??

No way in hell's the oven my best friend, but yeah, that's probably the quickest and easiest way...
